Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • Water as needed

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and ensure chickpeas are drained and rinsed.
  2. In a blender or food processor, combine chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, cumin, salt, and olive oil. Blend until smooth.
  3. Gradually add water while blending to achieve a creamy consistency; scrape down the sides as needed.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt or lemon juice if desired.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl, create a well in the center, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle paprika or cumin on top.
  6. Serve immediately with pita bread or fresh veggies.
