Description

Grilled Salmon with Lemon and Dill is a fresh, flavorful, and healthy dish perfect for a quick dinner or a special occasion. The salmon is lightly seasoned, grilled to perfection, and infused with the bright flavors of fresh lemon and dill. This simple yet elegant recipe pairs wonderfully with roasted vegetables, rice, or a crisp salad.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 large lemon (half sliced, half juiced)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped (plus extra for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the salmon:
    • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F-400°F).
    • Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Brush both sides with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
    • Squeeze half of the lemon over the salmon and sprinkle with chopped dill.
  2. Grill the salmon:
    • Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
    • Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the grill. Close the lid and cook for 6-8 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets.
    • Flip the salmon carefully and cook for another 2-4 minutes, or until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  3. Serve:
    • Transfer the salmon to a serving platter. Garnish with additional fresh dill and lemon slices.
    • Serve immediately with your choice of sides.

Notes

  • For a citrusy twist, add a splash of orange juice along with the lemon.
  • Use a grill basket or foil if you’re worried about the salmon sticking to the grates.
  • Leftover salmon can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and enjoyed cold or reheated.
  • This recipe works well with other herbs like parsley or thyme if dill isn’t available.
