  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup provolone or cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  2. Sauté the chopped onion and green bell pepper in a skillet over medium heat until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, sautéed vegetables, breadcrumbs, eggs, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and half of the ketchup mixture. Mix until just combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf in the prepared pan. Create an indentation down the center and fill with shredded cheese. Cover with remaining meat mixture.
  5. Bake for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let rest before slicing.
