  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 8 oz provolone cheese, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Slice ribeye steak thinly against the grain. Cut hoagie rolls open without slicing all the way through.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and sauté onions until golden brown (about 5-7 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  3. Add another tablespoon of butter, then cook the ribeye slices for 3-4 minutes until browned; season with salt and pepper.
  4. Layer provolone cheese over the steak mixture in the skillet and cover for 1-2 minutes until melted.
  5. Fill hoagie rolls generously with the cheesy steak mixture.
  6. Toast assembled sandwiches in the skillet for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown.
