- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar; let sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk flour, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Create a well in the center; add butter, eggs, and yeast mixture. Stir to form a shaggy dough.
- Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth; fold in dried fruit.
- Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough; divide into 12 pieces and shape into balls. Place on a lined baking tray; cover and let rise for another hour.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Mix equal parts flour and water for the cross paste; pipe crosses on buns before baking. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
