Description

Spicy Shrimp & Avocado Phyllo Cups are a flavorful and vibrant appetizer that combines succulent shrimp with creamy avocado, all nestled in crispy phyllo pastry. Perfect for any gathering!


Ingredients

  • 1 package (8 oz) phyllo dough
  • 12 large shrimp (cleaned and deveined)
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Melted butter for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Layer 3-4 sheets of phyllo dough, brushing melted butter between each layer. Cut into squares and press into muffin tins.
  3. In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté garlic and chili powder until fragrant. Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mash avocado with lime juice, salt, pepper, and cilantro until smooth yet chunky.
  5. Fill each phyllo cup with sautéed shrimp and top with mashed avocado.
  6. Bake for an additional 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
