Description

Steak Bites with Garlic Butter is a quick and flavorful dish where tender pieces of steak are seared to perfection and coated in a rich, aromatic garlic butter sauce. This recipe makes for an easy and satisfying dinner or appetizer, perfect for steak lovers.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Steak:

  • 1 lb (450g) sirloin steak or your choice of steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (or fresh thyme)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Steak:
    • Season the steak bites generously with salt and pepper.
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the skillet is hot, add the steak bites in a single layer, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
    • Cook the steak for 2–3 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (rare to medium-rare is best for steak bites). Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside.
  2. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter and let it melt.
    • Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the garlic becomes fragrant but not browned.
    • Stir in the dried thyme and red pepper flakes (if using).
  3. Combine the Steak and Garlic Butter:
    • Return the cooked steak bites to the skillet, tossing them in the garlic butter sauce to coat. Continue to cook for another 2–3 minutes, letting the steak soak in the sauce and absorb the flavors.
  4. Serve:
    • Remove from heat and transfer the steak bites to a serving plate. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Choose the Right Steak: Sirloin, ribeye, or tenderloin work best for this recipe, but you can use any steak of your choice.
  • Adjusting Spice: If you like a bit of heat, feel free to add more red pepper flakes or even a pinch of cayenne pepper to the sauce.
  • Serving Suggestions: Serve the steak bites with a side of roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
  • Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stovetop.
