Ingredients

  • 8 oz fettuccine or spaghetti
  • 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs (oregano and basil)
  • Juice of ½ lemon

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente; reserve some pasta water before draining.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sear seasoned steak for 4-5 minutes on each side; remove and let rest before slicing.
  3. Lower heat and add butter and garlic to skillet; sauté until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
  4. Stir in heavy cream and simmer until slightly thickened (3-4 minutes).
  5. Return sliced steak to skillet with drained pasta; toss gently, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
  6. Incorporate Parmesan cheese, herbs, and lemon juice; taste and adjust seasoning before serving immediately.
