Balsamic Chicken Skillet is a delightful one-pan dish that combines tender chicken breasts with a rich, tangy balsamic sauce, complemented by sautéed onions and garlic. This comforting meal is perfect for cozy family dinners or casual gatherings, delivering an explosion of flavors in every bite. With minimal cleanup required, it’s as practical as it is delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 tsp fresh thyme or basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse and pat dry the chicken breasts. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté sliced onions until soft; add minced garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown.
  4. Pour in balsamic vinegar and chicken broth, scraping up any brown bits from the pan. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  6. Stir in fresh herbs just before serving and enjoy with your favorite sides.
