Ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • Oil for frying (enough to cover the balls)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workstation by setting up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with seasoned breadcrumbs.
  2. In a large bowl, mix shredded cheese with salt and pepper; add optional spices if desired.
  3. Scoop out about two tablespoons of the cheese mixture and roll it into a ball. Repeat until all mixture is used.
  4. Coat each cheese ball in flour, dip in egg wash, then roll in breadcrumbs until fully covered.
  5. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry cheese balls in batches for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown, flipping occasionally.
  6. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with dipping sauce.
