  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted & cooled
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk, lukewarm
  • Powdered sugar & fresh raspberries for serving

Instructions

  1. Whip egg whites: Beat whites until stiff, glossy peaks form.
  2. Make yolk base: Whisk yolks and sugar until pale. Add butter, vanilla, water, flour, and slowly whisk in lukewarm milk.
  3. Fold gently: Fold in whites leaving small clouds floating.
  4. Bake & chill: Bake in 8×8 pan at 325°F for 45-55 min. Chill 3+ hours, dust with powdered sugar.
