  • 1 lb beef flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or water
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Optional: red pepper flakes (to taste)

Instructions

  1. 1. Marinate sliced flank steak in soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, brown sugar, cornstarch, and optional red pepper flakes for 30 minutes.
  2. 2. While beef marinates, wash broccoli and cut into bite-sized florets.
  3. 3. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Cook marinated beef in batches until browned (about 3–4 minutes). Remove from the skillet.
  4. 4. In the same skillet, sauté broccoli with minced garlic and ginger until bright green and crisp (about 3–5 minutes).
  5. 5. Add leftover marinade and chicken broth to the skillet; simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. 6. Return beef to the skillet, stir to combine with vegetables, and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
  7. 7. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
