- 1 lb 80/20 ground beef
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1 medium sweet onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 French rolls or hoagie buns
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp dried thyme
Instructions
- Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Transfer the beef to a slow cooker along with onions, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, pepper, and beef broth. Stir to combine.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- About 15 minutes before serving, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut open rolls and toast until golden.
- Place provolone cheese on top of each sandwich filling in the slow cooker and let it melt for about five minutes before serving.
