- 12 oz no-boil lasagna noodles
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 28 oz canned San Marzano tomatoes
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the sauce: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions and garlic until translucent (about 5 minutes). Add canned tomatoes and Italian seasoning; simmer uncovered for 20 minutes.
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions if not using no-boil. Drain and set aside.
- In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of tomato sauce on the bottom. Layer with noodles, ricotta mixed with basil, mozzarella, and more sauce. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover lasagna with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15–20 minutes until bubbling.
- Let cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
